A Bibliometric Review of Vocabulary Learning via Mobile Assisted Language Learning

In recent years, Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) has emerged as a widespread phenomenon in education well EFL/ESL teaching and learning context with its own set of foundations, techniques, implications. Among the related studies, continuous growth number MALL vocabulary studies can be witnessed over last few decades. To this end, primary purpose study is to identify research hotspots future trends available literature on using from 2007 2022. A total 229 articles topic were selected Scopus database analysed Vosviewer software. We used bibliometric methods reveal document types yearly distribution retrieved articles, most productive countries journals, keywords, words title abstract area, cited publications authors (citation & co-citation) 16-year period. Findings showed an increased 2022 have been published field but slight fluctuation between 2012 2018. China (24 publications) took top prominent lead among all countries, whilst journal area was Lecture Notes Computer Science (11 by Springer Publishing company. terms frequently “Vocabulary Learning” (120 occurrence), “Mobile (114 occurrence) “App” (40 three ranks, meanwhile “Effect” (62 “System” (56 “Foreign Language” (46 field.
